I started into the photography business because I love finding hidden beauty on this earth. That manifested itself into a devotion to landscape and nature photography. I would hike to remote places and try to capture the beauty that I saw so I could bring it back for the world to see. This passion soon transferred to my everyday world when I realized we don't have to travel to find the hidden beauty. It is all around us. Whether it be a flower popping up in spring, a weathered house on a gloomy day, or something ordinary that we pass everyday but don't take the time to notice.
From there I found the greatest beauty of all. Human Interaction. A laugh among friends, a passionate kiss between lovers, a family dynamic, or emotion portrayed for the world to see - I had to capture this. This is the mentality I come with every time I shoot. I want to create a picture that shows the world the intangible.
I like to give a brief description of what happens with a photo shoot with myself. First and foremost, I want to get to know the people I am going to be shooting with. This is how I learn what style I will use and what human interaction to capture. With bigger shoots such as weddings or complex events, I want to get a game plan of what is taking place (ie. the schedule, different options, etc.). This will usually be a phone call or meeting depending on the shoot.
After we are done with the shoot it will take typically 4 - 6 weeks to process the pictures and get them back to you. Quality work takes quality time, and I want to make sure I can perfect the interpretation of the picture.
